Countershaft complete assembly

K1414.02.06

Product Introduction

A procurement team orders a countershaft assembly the way the original equipment was built: the drive shaft from one supplier, the bearing seats from another, the spline sleeve from a third, the locking components from a fourth, and the housing from a fifth. Each supplier works to its own drawing. Each part passes its own incoming inspection.

The problem appears at assembly.

When five separately machined parts come together, the tolerances stack. A shaft journal 0.01 mm under, a bearing seat 0.01 mm over, a spline sleeve with 0.008 mm position error, and a housing bore 0.012 mm off centerline can add up to a fit outside the design range — even though every individual part was accepted. The assembly team then spends hours trimming, shimming, or forcing parts together.

The cost is not only assembly labor:

  • Scattered inventory. Five suppliers mean five MOQs, five lead times, five safety stocks.

  • Split responsibility. When the assembly fails, no single supplier owns the problem. The shaft supplier blames the housing. The housing supplier blames the bearing seat.

  • Repeated downtime. A mismatch found at assembly keeps the crusher down while parts are reworked or reordered.

Every part passed inspection. The assembly still failed. And no single supplier owned the problem.

Our Solution:

ZHUOYUE manufactures the countershaft complete assembly as an integrated unit — one datum, one pre-assembly, one run-in, one inspection record.

  1. One datum system for all critical fits. Shaft journals, bearing seats, spline fits, and mounting faces are machined from a common datum, removing the stack-up from independent drawings.

  2. Functional fits measured, not assumed. Shaft radial runout ≤ 0.02 mm. Coaxiality between bearing seats ≤ 0.01 mm. Spline surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.8 μm. Positioning tolerance ± 0.005 mm.

  3. Integral pre-assembly and factory run-in. The assembly is pre-assembled and run-in for at least 2 hours under load to check rotational smoothness, vibration, bearing seating, and spline engagement. Problems are corrected before shipment.

  4. Material and heat treatment matched across the assembly. All load-bearing components use 42CrMo with the same heat treatment: tensile ≥ 1080 MPa, yield ≥ 930 MPa, surface hardness HB 280–320, core HB 240–270, hardened layer ≥ 8 mm.

  5. One inspection record for the whole assembly. Material and heat number, hardness, radial runout and coaxiality, spline fit and roughness, and run-in test record — one document, not five certificates to reconcile.

Value to the Buyer

  • Fewer suppliers to manage. One PO, one lead time, one quality record.

  • Lower assembly labor. The fit is confirmed before shipment.

  • Lower inventory capital. One safety stock instead of five.

  • Clear responsibility. One supplier owns the fit.

  • Less unplanned downtime. Problems are caught before the crusher is opened.

When five suppliers share the blame, no one owns the failure. When one supplier owns the fit, the failure never leaves the factory.

Why ZHUOYUE, Not Just Another Supplier

Typical SupplierZHUOYUE
Machines to your drawing, ships the part. If the assembly doesn't fit, it's your problem.Machines all critical fits to a common datum system. One supplier owns the fit.
Passes drawing dimensions, never measures whether the assembly runs correctly.Measures functional fits — runout, coaxiality, spline fit, positioning — and records actual values.
Ships individual parts, never assembled. First run happens at your site.Pre-assembles and run-in for 2+ hours under load before shipment.
Five suppliers mean five certificates and five documents to reconcile. One inspection record covering material, hardness, runout, coaxiality, spline fit, and run-in.

Most suppliers sell you parts and hope they fit.

We own the fit, measure it, run it, and document it — before it leaves the factory.

Product Application

Countershaft complete assemblies are used in cone crusher transmission systems in:

  • Hard rock mining: Copper, iron ore, gold, and nickel crushing circuits.

  • Aggregate quarries: Granite, basalt, and limestone processing plants.

  • Construction and recycling: Concrete rubble, asphalt, and slag crushing lines.

  • Fixed and mobile crushing stations: Transmission supporting parts for cone crusher stations.

The assembly is selected according to the specific crusher model, load case, and operating environment. Material, heat treatment, and functional tolerances are confirmed before production.

About Us

ZHUOYUE is built by a core team with over 10 years of hands-on experience in mining machinery and crusher replacement parts. Our background covers process confirmation, manufacturing, and quality inspection for crusher structural components, wear parts, and custom machined parts.

We focus on cone crusher transmission structural parts, including countershaft complete assemblies, countershaft boxes, pinion shaft housings, dust covers, and seal rings. Fitment and functional tolerances are confirmed against the crusher model, OEM number, drawing, or worn sample before production.

Incoming Material Inspection

  • Raw material composition analysis (spectrometer per GB/T 223 / ASTM E415)

  • Material grade verification against the confirmed specification

  • Hardness check on incoming material

In-Process Inspection

  • Critical dimensional measurement: shaft journal diameter, bearing seat diameter, spline dimensions, mounting face flatness, measured against approved drawing

  • Functional tolerance measurement: radial runout, coaxiality between bearing seats, positioning tolerance

  • Heat treatment parameter verification

  • Surface condition inspection: visual check for cracks, voids, and surface finish

Before Shipment

  • Final dimensional inspection against the approved drawing

  • Functional tolerance report with actual measured values

  • Integral pre-assembly and minimum 2-hour run-in test

  • Appearance and packaging inspection

  • Components that fail dimensional or functional inspection are segregated and reworked or rejected before shipment

Additional Inspection (On Request)

  • Material certificate with heat number

  • Heat treatment record

  • NDT for metal components: UT (ASTM A388 / GB/T 6402), MT (ASTM E709 / GB/T 15822), PT (ASTM E165)

  • Inspection records provided in paper or electronic format according to order requirements

Note on NDT: UT, MT, and PT are applicable to metal components. They are not applied to PU elastomer seals.

Note on hardness standards: Brinell hardness (GB/T 231.1) is applicable to metal components. Shore A (ASTM D2240) is used for PU elastomer seals.

FAQ

Q: How do I order if the OEM part number is missing?

A: Send clear photos of the worn assembly with key measurements (shaft journal diameter, bearing seat diameter, spline dimensions, center distance), or mail a sample. We reconstruct the geometry and send you a drawing to verify before production.

Q: What material do you use?

A: 42CrMo alloy structural steel, confirmed against the original part or drawing. Material grade and heat treatment are selected according to the load case.

Q: Can you control the fit between the shaft and its mating components?

A: Yes. Critical fits are machined from a common datum system and measured on the finished assembly. Radial runout, coaxiality, spline fit, and positioning tolerance are recorded in the inspection document.

Q: Do you pre-assemble and run-in before shipment?

A: Yes. Custom assemblies are pre-assembled and run-in for at least 2 hours under load before shipment.
