Product Introduction
The drawing passes. The assembly fails. This is procurement's worst nightmare.
A common problem with countershaft boxes and pinion shaft housings: it doesn't show on the drawing. It shows at assembly — or weeks after the crusher is back in operation.
The pinion shaft bore and the countershaft box mounting face are machined in separate setups. If the bore is not square to the mounting face, or the two bearing bores are not coaxial, the shaft does not sit in its designed position. The assembly still goes together. The gear still turns. But the gear mesh now runs at the wrong center distance and angle.
The result: one-sided tooth wear, uneven bearing preload, rising vibration, and fatigue at mounting bolts. The crusher may run for weeks, then fail without warning — usually during a production push, when downtime is most expensive.
The root cause is usually not the material. It is the machining setup, the bore-to-face alignment, and the lack of a functional check before shipment.
Our Solution
ZHUOYUE treats bore-to-face alignment as a functional requirement, not just a dimensional one.
| Control Item | Typical Tolerance |
|---|---|
| Bore-to-face squareness | ≤ 0.015 mm |
| Bore-to-bore coaxiality | ≤ 0.02 mm |
| Center distance | Per drawing, actual value recorded |
What we do:
Single-setup machining of critical bore and mounting face; verified datum transfer for larger housings
Functional inspection: squareness, coaxiality, center distance measured on CMM or with mandrel and dial indicator
Mock-up assembly before shipment: confirms no binding, proper bearing seating, correct gear contact pattern
Material and heat treatment matched to load case: 42CrMo / 34CrNiMo6 / ZG270-500, stress relief, hardness recorded
Full documentation: material certificate, heat treatment record, dimensional and functional tolerance reports
Value to the Buyer
Lower risk of a part that fits the drawing but not the machine
Fewer assembly surprises — mock-up catches issues before shipment
Longer gear and bearing life — correct mesh and preload
Traceable quality records for incoming inspection and supplier comparison
The most expensive failure is the one that passes inspection.

Product Advantages
1. Functional alignment controlled, not assumed
The drawing may specify bore diameter and face flatness. We additionally control bore-to-face squareness, bore-to-bore coaxiality, and center distance — machined from a verified datum and measured before shipment.
2. Material and heat treatment selected by load case
Grade and heat treatment are confirmed against the original part or drawing, not a fixed catalog spec. Typical grades: 42CrMo, 34CrNiMo6, ZG270-500, or equivalent. Hardness recorded on the finished part.
3. Mock-up assembly check for custom housings
Where mating components can be supplied or approved, we perform a mock-up assembly to confirm shaft seating, bearing seating, gear mesh contact pattern, and mounting face contact. If not possible, a functional tolerance report is provided.
4. Documentation for the buyer's quality system
Material certificate with heat number, heat treatment record, dimensional inspection report, functional tolerance report, and mock-up assembly record — all available with the order.
5. Flexible supply: from 1 piece to annual framework
Stock / prototype: MOQ 1 piece
Custom batch: MOQ 30–50 pieces
Annual framework: reserved blanks, shorter lead time
Product Application
These countershaft boxes and pinion shaft housings are used in cone crusher transmission systems in:
Hard rock mining: Copper, iron ore, gold, and nickel crushing circuits
Aggregate quarries: Granite, basalt, and limestone processing plants
Construction and recycling: Concrete rubble, asphalt, and slag crushing lines
The housing is selected according to the specific crusher model, load case, and operating environment. Material grade, heat treatment, and functional tolerances are confirmed before production.

FAQ:
Q: How do I order a replacement countershaft box or pinion shaft housing if the OEM part number is missing?
A: Send clear photos of the worn part along with key measurements (bore diameter, mounting face dimensions, center distance), or mail a sample. Our engineering team will reconstruct the geometry and send you a drawing to verify before production.
Q: What material do you use?
A: We use high-strength alloy structural steel such as 42CrMo, 34CrNiMo6, or ZG270-500, confirmed against the original part or drawing. Material grade and heat treatment are selected according to the load case and operating conditions.
Q: Can you control bore alignment and gear mesh accuracy?
A: Yes. Bore-to-face squareness, bore-to-bore coaxiality, and center distance are treated as functional tolerances and measured before shipment. For custom housings, a mock-up assembly check can be performed where mating components are available.
Q: What packaging and shipping terms do you support?
A: Housings are packed with anti-UV wrap and rigid deformation protection, then in export wooden cases or steel frames. We support EXW, FOB, CIF, and DDP terms, negotiable by order.
Q: How do you handle quality issues after shipment?
A: Contact us with the order number, photos, and issue description. Our engineering team will review whether the issue is related to material, heat treatment, dimensions, or installation. Confirmed manufacturing defects are covered by warranty, with replacement, rework, or credit as appropriate.
